01 / POLICY

Who we are

Motino is an online motion graphics editing service available at motino.app. This policy explains how information may be handled when you visit our website, use the editor, or contact us. For questions about this policy, email hello@motino.app.

02 / POLICY

Information we handle

Depending on how you interact with Motino, the following information may be processed:

  • Messages you send us. Your email address, the contents of your message, and any files or details you choose to include when you contact us.
  • Website and technical information. IP addresses, browser and device details, requested pages, approximate access times, and security or error records may be handled by our hosting and infrastructure services.
  • Editor content and settings. Files you import, text you create, project settings, edits, and export choices may be processed to provide the functions you use.

We ask that you avoid sending passwords, payment credentials, or other sensitive information in support messages.

03 / POLICY

Projects, files & browser storage

The editor may use your browser to process media, render previews, or store project information and preferences locally. Local browser storage can help with convenience or continuity, but clearing your browser data or changing devices may remove locally stored projects or settings.

Processing arrangements may differ by feature. Do not assume that every editing operation happens exclusively on your device unless that feature clearly states this. If you are working with confidential material, review the feature and your browser’s permissions before using it.

04 / POLICY

How we use information

We use information as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the website and editing features.
  • Respond to questions, feedback, bug reports, and other requests.
  • Detect errors, protect the service, and prevent abuse.
  • Meet applicable legal obligations or respond to valid legal requests.

We do not need you to create an account just to visit these informational pages.

05 / POLICY

Cookies & third-party resources

Motino may use browser storage or similar technologies for functionality, preferences, and session-related operations. You can manage browser storage through your browser settings, though disabling it may affect editor features.

Our pages may load resources from third parties, including Google Fonts. Your browser may send technical information, such as your IP address, when it requests these resources. If enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) after you allow analytics. These services help us understand website visits, interactions, and usability; Clarity can include session recordings and heatmaps. Their services may use cookies or similar identifiers and receive technical or usage information. You can decline analytics or later change your choice using Analytics choices in the website footer. We do not intentionally send original editor files to these analytics services, but the editor must be separately checked for adequate masking of any user content.

06 / POLICY

Service providers & disclosures

Technical data and communications may be processed by providers that help run Motino, such as web hosting, content delivery, security, font delivery, and email services. We may also disclose information when legally required or to protect the security and integrity of the service.

Third-party websites reached through external links are subject to their own privacy practices.

07 / POLICY

Legal bases where required

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we may rely on legitimate interests to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service; on responding to your request or providing a service you choose to use; on compliance with legal obligations; or on your consent where it is required for a particular activity.

These bases depend on the processing activity and the law that applies to you.

08 / POLICY

How long information is kept

We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain relevant support history, resolve disputes, or comply with legal requirements. Technical records are subject to operational needs and the retention practices of our infrastructure providers.

Information stored locally in your browser may remain until you or your browser clears it. Retention can vary by feature and service provider; no fixed retention period is represented here.

09 / POLICY

Security

We aim to use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information involved in running Motino. However, no website, device, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Keep your own copies of important work and exercise care when sharing sensitive files.

10 / POLICY

International processing

Motino and its service providers may process information in different countries. Where international data transfers are subject to legal requirements, appropriate mechanisms or safeguards may be required.

11 / POLICY

Your rights & choices

Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have the right to request access to personal data, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, or request data portability. Where we rely on consent, you may be able to withdraw it.

You may object to processing based on legitimate interests when that right applies. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

To make a privacy request, email hello@motino.app. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

12 / POLICY

Children’s privacy

Motino is not intended to be used by children who cannot lawfully consent to the processing of their personal information without a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has sent us personal information inappropriately, please contact us so we can review the request.

13 / POLICY

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Motino changes. The “Last updated” date above shows when this version was revised. When appropriate, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
